PADI Open Water Course

To qualify as a PADI diver it is essential that your skills and knowledge are of a sufficient level to keep yourself and those you dive with, safe in any underwater situation. A thorough and complete understanding of diving is studied, as well as safety requirements and practical techniques.

A certain amount of home study is required for this course, to ensure that your time in the water is maximised; your study materials are provided prior to the start of your course, as well as full instructions by your tutor.

The Open Water Course takes a total of 4 full days and consists of 5 theory sessions, 5 confined water training sessions (in our dive training pool) and finally, what you have been training for, 4 incredible ocean dives.

PADI Open Water graduates qualify for special offers on dives and on the PADI Advanced course, for more details ask your instructor.

Chose a package tailored to your specific needs:

Pro option - 4 day course, It includes all SCUBA equipment rental, tuition, 5 pool sessions, 4 shore dives, PADI delux course materials (extra PADI Logbook, PADI DVD and the eRDP), registration with PADI. With your Pro option we include not only your own mask and snorkel but also boots, fins and an 2 piece wetsuit. That means that all your “soft” gear is brand new and you are sure everything fits 100%. 6400.00 Includes your dive permit.

Standard option - 4 day course.It includes all equipment rental, tuition, 5 pool sessions, 4 shore dives, delux PADI course materials (extra PADI Logbook, PADI DVD and the eRDP), registration with PADI. With the standard option we include your own mask and snorkel. This is highly recommended because each mask molds with wear, to suit the contours of your face. Having you own mask and snorkel will ensure you don’t have to worry about a leaking mask. 3400.00 Includes your dive permit.

Budget option - 4 day course. It includes all equipment rental, tuition, 5 pool sessions, 4 shore dives, basic course materials and registration with PADI. 2900.00 Includes your dive permit.

Your PADI scuba training takes place in a specialised dive facility in Kommetjie (only 30 mins from Cape Town).

The dive centre, which is an accredited Five Star Instructor Development Dive Resort has all the facilities that you could need including 2 classrooms, changing rooms, outside showers,a refreshment area, sundeck and a specially designed, purpose-built dive pool. The pool provides the opportunity to learn in a safe, dynamic environment, and at your own pace.

Plenty of parking is available at the center, which also boasts a well stocked dive shop, for those driving (detailed directions will be given when you make your booking) and we also offer return transport from Cape Town central if needed.

For those who would like to make the most of their experience, there are a number of establishments that can provide accommodation in this beautiful area, should you decide to stay overnight.

To enroll in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must be 10 years or older (PADI eLearning requires a minimum age of 13 years due to international internet laws.

We have weekly PADI Open Water Course and you can chose from:

• Full-time option (Monday to Thursday)
• Part-time option (2 consecutive weekends)

A minimum of 24 hours is required for all bookings.
